Hey, have you heard about EHang’s cool new flying taxi? They’ve just set the price for their EH216-S eVTOL at $410,000 outside of China, starting from April 1, 2024. It’s a big deal in the world of urban air travel!

What makes this aircraft so special? Well, it can fly by itself, it’s electric, and it’s packed with safety features. Plus, it has some fancy control systems that make it perfect for zipping around cities in all sorts of ways.

EHang did something pretty amazing last year. They got the world’s first special certificates from China’s aviation authorities for their pilotless passenger eVTOL. That’s a big thumbs-up for how safe and well-made these flying machines are.

By setting a price that’s competitive worldwide, EHang is hoping to make these futuristic aircraft more accessible to everyone. They want people all over the world to be able to experience this cool new way of getting around.

After getting those important certificates in late 2023, EHang was able to start delivering the EH216-S and show it off in action. They’ve been doing flight demos in Chinese cities like Guangzhou and Hefei, proving that these aircraft are ready for all kinds of real-world uses.

Let me tell you more about the EH216-S. It’s a two-seater that can cruise at about 62 mph, with a top speed of 81 mph. It can fly as high as 9,843 feet and go for about 22 miles on a single charge. The “S” in its name means it’s ready for mass production and commercial use.

This little flying marvel has 16 propellers and motors, all powered by batteries that take two hours to recharge. It can carry up to 485 pounds and has a cool see-through canopy so passengers can enjoy amazing views. The doors open up like wings, and the whole thing is made of super-strong but lightweight carbon fiber. It lands on skids, kind of like a helicopter. Pretty neat, right?
