Turbine Inlet Temperature (Tit)

Turbine Inlet Temperature, or TIT, refers to the temperature of exhaust gases from the combustion chamber as they enter the turbine unit. This critical measurement helps ensure optimal engine performance. To determine the gas temperature, several thermocouples are installed in the exhaust stream. These devices provide accurate readings, which are displayed on a gauge in the cockpit, either in degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius. Monitoring TIT is essential for maintaining efficiency and safety during flight.
