Interstate Aviation Committee (Cis) (Iac)

The Interstate Aviation Committee, known as IAC or Межгосударственный авиационный комитет (MAK), is a key organization that manages civil aviation in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Established in 1991, it came into being when twelve countries from the former Soviet Union signed an agreement focused on civil aviation and airspace use. The IAC plays a crucial role in overseeing aviation safety, including investigating accidents in its member states. As of 2013, the committee includes members such as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine. The headquarters of the IAC is located in Moscow, Russia.
