National Transportation Safety Committee (Indonesia) (Ntsc)

The National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC), or Komite Nasional Keselamatan Transportasi (KNKT) in Indonesian, plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of various transportation modes. This committee investigates safety issues in aviation, maritime, railway, and road transportation. After conducting thorough accident investigations, the NTSC provides recommendations aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future. To fulfill its mission, the NTSC also engages in research to identify potential safety gaps. Importantly, the goal of these investigations is to enhance safety, not to assign blame or liability. Established by presidential decree in 2012, the NTSC operates as an independent body reporting directly to the President of Indonesia.
