Threshold Elevation (Thre)

Threshold Elevation (THRE) refers to the highest point in the first 3000 feet of a runway, starting from the threshold. This measurement is also known as the TouchDown Zone Elevation (TDZE). When the THRE is the highest point within the TDZE, both terms refer to the same elevation. This concept is important for pilots and air traffic controllers, as it affects landing approaches and runway safety. Knowing the THRE helps ensure safe landings and takeoffs, making it a crucial aspect of aviation operations.
