In a significant stride towards enhancing global health standards, Taiwan has unveiled the “Go Healthy with Taiwan” 2025 Global Call for Proposals. This initiative, commissioned by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), invites innovative project plans from governments, institutions, companies, and non-profits worldwide. The objective is clear: to integrate Taiwan’s premium health products and holistic solutions into various environments—urban, community, and corporate—across the globe.
The campaign aligns seamlessly with Taiwan’s Healthy Vision, as outlined by Deputy Director-General Susan Hu of TITA. This initiative represents a crucial milestone in translating Taiwan’s domestic health ambitions into collaborative global efforts. During a breakfast press conference held on June 3, which was moderated by Joe Chou, Executive Vice President of TAITRA, the campaign’s mission was articulated. It aims to merge international expertise with Taiwan’s cutting-edge health technologies, thereby fostering smart and sustainable wellness solutions that can be implemented worldwide.
The launch event resonated with a vibrant theme: “Pitching Taiwan’s Best: A Home Run for Proposals!” This theme not only encapsulates Taiwan’s dynamic approach to global health advancement but also reflects its cultural enthusiasm for baseball. The presence of Asian baseball icon An‑Ko Lin and the beloved mascot Fu Bear symbolized this energetic commitment, signaling a powerful message about Taiwan’s readiness to lead in health innovation.
Attracting a diverse audience, the launch engaged representatives from various sectors, including the Taiwan Bicycle Association, Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, and the Medical & Biotech Industry Association. The event garnered significant media attention from Europe, the US, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and included diplomats from foreign missions. The participation underscored the campaign’s focus on five pivotal sectors that highlight Taiwan’s strengths in health innovation:
- Smart healthcare technologies
- Medical aesthetics & wellness diagnostics
- Fitness equipment
- Sports technologies
- Bicycles
Renowned as the “Bicycle Kingdom”, Taiwan is celebrated for its world-class production and research capabilities. The island plays a critical role in sustainable supply chains and is a leading global supplier of fitness machinery, integrating advanced technology and artificial intelligence into its product offerings. Moreover, Taiwan’s smart health solutions capitalize on its strengths in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), semiconductor manufacturing, and a sophisticated medical ecosystem.
Building on the momentum of last year’s successful “Go Green with Taiwan” campaign, which received 396 proposals from 45 countries, the 2025 health campaign aspires to surpass 500 proposals from across all continents. Among the incentives, the top three proposals will receive awards of US$30,000, alongside opportunities for further collaboration and commercialization with Taiwanese firms. Moreover, numerous high-quality entries will be fast-tracked for matchmaking with domestic partners, enhancing the potential for real-world implementation.
The submission period for proposals opens on May 15 and closes on August 14, 2025. Judging criteria will include several key factors:
- Health and community impact
- Integration with Taiwan’s technologies
- Innovation potential
- Feasibility and local adaptability
This campaign is not merely an invitation for proposals; it signifies Taiwan’s strategic importance and economic prospects in the global health landscape. By promoting large-scale engagement from international partners, particularly within APAC, Europe, and Middle Eastern markets, Taiwan seeks to solidify its health industry’s international stature. Investing in smart healthcare, fitness, and clean transport sectors supports broader societal goals such as carbon reduction and fostering healthy lifestyles. This investment also drives economic development for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and tech sectors through global matchmaking and commercialization.
Organizations, governments, startups, and NGOs worldwide are encouraged to participate in this global call for proposals. Detailed campaign information, including submission guidelines, eligibility criteria, evaluation processes, and pathways for finalists, can be accessed through the official campaign website. Top proposals will benefit from additional support in areas such as technology transfer, pilot funding, export facilitation, and matchmaking through TAITRA’s extensive global network.
The “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2025” initiative embodies a landmark global effort to unify public, private, and academic innovations with smart health technologies. It showcases Taiwan’s ambitious vision of delivering modern, sustainable health solutions while simultaneously fostering international cooperation and expanding market opportunities. As the world navigates through evolving health challenges, Taiwan positions itself as a beacon of innovation, ready to collaborate and lead in the quest for improved health outcomes globally.
