Cathay Pacific is preparing for a milestone moment next month as its Aria Suite — one of the most coveted new long-haul business-class products in the sky — finally arrives on U.S. soil. Beginning January 1, 2026, the airline will deploy its redesigned Boeing 777-300ER featuring this elevated cabin experience on select flights between San Francisco (SFO) and Hong Kong (HKG), marking the first time American travelers can experience the full Aria Suite offering on a transpacific route.
Cathay Pacific’s Aria Suite introduces a level of refinement that pushes business class closer to private-suite territory. The airline has spent years reimagining its flagship wide-body interiors, and the Aria Suite embodies that evolution through enhanced privacy, meticulous spatial engineering, and an immersive entertainment experience. The cabin’s architecture flows with sculpted surfaces, softly diffused lighting, and acoustically considerate materials designed to create a cocoon-like environment.
Passengers stepping into the Aria Suite will immediately notice the full-height sliding privacy door, enclosing a personal space that feels more intimate than any previous Cathay business-class product. Inside, the 1-2-1 configuration ensures direct aisle access for every traveler while emphasizing openness and personal territory.

Key Features That Define the Aria Suite Experience
The suite’s centerpiece is the 24-inch 4K ultra-high-definition display, one of the largest screens flying in business class today. It supports Bluetooth audio pairing, allowing passengers to use their own wireless headphones — a long-requested feature that finally arrives with this cabin. For travelers who prefer wired audio, Cathay also equips the suite with premium cabled headsets.
Comfort is elevated through the airline’s partnership with Bamford, whose bedding line brings a plush duvet, smooth linens, and indulgent pillows. The seat itself reclines into a fully lie-flat bed with a wide sleeping surface and a thoughtfully padded shell engineered for support on long overnight segments.

Cathay’s design team has introduced subtle experiential features that enhance the overall flow of the journey. Storage areas are intuitively placed, the side console offers expanded workspace, and the privacy door’s glide is engineered to feel soft and weightless. Lighting includes layered ambient modes tailored for dining, resting, or working.
Expanded U.S. Access Begins with San Francisco
Until now, Aria-equipped aircraft operated only on routes between Hong Kong, London, and Vancouver. The transition to San Francisco marks the product’s first appearance in the United States, with more North American gateways planned. According to Cathay’s senior vice president for the Americas, Cindy Lam, additional cities will join “eventually,” though timelines remain unannounced.
The introduction aligns with heightened demand for premium transpacific travel and the carrier’s broader Boeing 777-300ER refurbishment program.

Flight Numbers and Operating Days
Travelers will find the Aria Suite on the following San Francisco–Hong Kong flights starting January 1, 2026:
- SFO → HKG (CX873) — Departs 10:50 p.m. PST, arrives 6:15 a.m. two days later. Operates daily except Thursdays
- HKG → SFO (CX872) — Departs 1:00 a.m., arrives 9:00 p.m. PST the previous day. Operates daily except Fridays
These overnight departures and early-morning arrivals pair elegantly with the suite’s sleep-optimized design, offering travelers an unbroken rest cycle.
Booking With Points and Miles
Securing an Aria Suite using loyalty currencies is possible — but competitive. Cathay’s Asia Miles program remains the most reliable option and accepts transfers from major partners including American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One, and Citi ThankYou Rewards.
Travelers may also book through Cathay’s oneworld partners, although award space on premium transpacific routes tends to be scarce and often released close to departure. Those who do manage to secure a redemption will experience one of the most high-value ways to cross the Pacific.
Why This Debut Matters
Cathay Pacific’s return to global prominence has been marked by a strategic emphasis on cabin innovation and passenger experience. The Aria Suite underscores the airline’s commitment to reclaiming a leadership position in premium travel. Its arrival in the United States signals both confidence in the North American market and a restless push for refinement after years of industry turbulence.
The San Francisco launch is just the beginning. As more aircraft undergo modification, additional U.S. cities will gain access to this elevated cabin — setting the stage for Cathay Pacific to define long-haul business class standards across the Pacific for years to come.
