Acceptable Deferred Defect

An Acceptable Deferred Defect (ADD) refers to a specific aircraft issue that has been recognized and evaluated. This defect falls within the guidelines of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) or the Configuration Deviation List. Importantly, the necessary repairs for this defect can be postponed for a defined period. Often, this type of defect is also known as a Carried Forward Defect (CFD). By understanding ADDs, aviation professionals can ensure safety while managing aircraft maintenance effectively.
