The Mandatory Occurrence Reporting Scheme (MORS) aims to ensure that all significant incidents in aviation are reported without hesitation. This scheme is crucial for maintaining flight safety and includes various stakeholders such as operators, manufacturers, maintenance teams, air traffic control services, and aerodrome operators. However, not every incident needs to be reported. Only those incidents deemed “endangering” or “potentially endangering” are required to be reported. Routine defects or minor incidents are typically handled under the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) Occurrence Reporting Scheme instead. MORS was created by the UK Civil Aviation Authority after a tragic accident in 1972, highlighting its importance in promoting a safer aviation environment.
