Arrival Alert Notice (Aan)

Arrival Alert Notices (AAN) are visual aids created by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These graphics show pilots the approach to specific airports, helping to reduce the risk of misalignments on the runway. Each AAN contains information about potential misalignment risks. The FAA developed these notices to tackle wrong surface events, which occur when an aircraft mistakenly aligns with or lands on the wrong runway, taxiway, or even the wrong airport. By providing clear visuals and descriptions, the AAN aims to minimize confusion for pilots during critical phases of flight.
