Exosphere

The exosphere is the upper layer of the thermosphere. It lies above the ionosphere, stretching from about 600 kilometers to 10,000 kilometers above the Earth’s surface. In this region, the atmosphere gradually fades into outer space. The exosphere is not dense like the layers below it, which means that particles are far apart. Here, atoms and molecules can escape into space, marking a transition from our atmosphere to the vastness beyond.
