CENIPA, or the Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center, is Brazil’s key government agency focused on aviation safety. Its main role is to investigate aviation accidents and work on preventing future incidents. Operating under the Aeronautical Command and the Ministry of Defence, CENIPA follows the guidelines set out in ICAO Annex 13 for its investigations.
