Conflict Zone Information Repository

The Conflict Zone Information Repository (CZIR) was an initiative supported by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Its main goal was to gather and centralize information about risks to civil aircraft in conflict zones. This website was designed to be a reliable source for information shared by ICAO-authorized users, relying on publicly available data like Notices To Airmen and Aeronautical Information Circulars. Launched on April 2, 2015, the CZIR aimed to provide essential risk intelligence for aviation safety.

However, by January 2017, there was a noticeable decline in participation. Many stakeholders opted for alternative proprietary systems that offered real-time sharing of information. As a result, ICAO made the decision to close the CZIR in December 2017. The organization chose to focus its efforts on other priorities instead of maintaining this interim tool.
