Global Fatal Accident Review 2002 2011

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has an ‘Accident Analysis Group’ (AAG) that has been active since 1996. This group initially produced UK CAA CAP 681, which reviewed global fatal accidents from 1980 to 1996. Recently, the UK CAA published the third edition of this review, titled CAP 1036 – Global Fatal Accident Review 2002 to 2011. This document summarizes a comprehensive study of fatal accidents involving jet and turboprop aircraft over 5,700 kg. It covers passenger, cargo, and ferry/positioning flights from 2002 to 2011. While the style and content closely resemble the previous review (CAP 776), there are notable differences. These variations are detailed in Appendix A.
