Fixed Pitch Propeller

A fixed pitch propeller is one of the simplest designs available and is commonly found in many light, piston-engine aircraft. Its angle of attack is determined during installation and remains unchanged while flying. This means that the blade angle is a compromise, balancing the best performance for takeoff, climbing, and cruising. In these setups, the propeller is mechanically connected to the engine, meaning its speed directly correlates with the engine’s speed. This design makes it easy to operate but limits flexibility during flight.
