Variable Pitch Propeller

A variable pitch propeller allows pilots to change the blade angle during flight. This adjustment helps optimize performance for different phases of flying, such as takeoff, climbing, or cruising. In some setups, pilots can also feather the propeller to improve efficiency. Pilots control the blade pitch using the propeller control lever. Like fixed pitch propellers, the RPM of a variable pitch propeller changes based on engine RPM or airspeed. A more advanced version is the constant speed propeller. This type keeps the same RPM while flying, regardless of how much the throttle is moved or the airspeed changes.
