ATCoach is a collection of precision products designed to enhance training for air traffic control (ATC). These products support standalone training, ATC automation system-based training, airspace modeling, and voice recognition simulation control. The ATCoach family includes three main systems: the ATCoach Standalone Simulation, the ATCoach Precision Approach Radar, and the ATCoach Embedded Simulator. Developed by UFA Inc., a software engineering firm, ATCoach provides cutting-edge technologies and services for civil aviation, military applications, and universities around the globe.
The ATCoach Precision Approach Radar simulator stands out as a standalone configuration. It replicates various radar sets and their controller displays, including the AN/TPN-18 (US Army), AN/TPN-31 ATNAVICS (US Army), and GPN-22 (US Air Force). A notable feature is ATVoice, our voice recognition and response system. This allows trainees to communicate directly with simulated aircraft, receiving appropriate pilot responses in real time.
Next is the ATCoach Standalone ATC Radar simulation. This system effectively mirrors several FAA ATC automation systems, along with those used internationally. Each ATCoach system comes equipped with user-friendly exercise development tools, such as ATPilot, which offers a powerful graphical pseudo pilot feature, and ATSetup, a supervisor application for configuring and controlling simulation exercises.
Lastly, the ATCoach Embedded ATC Radar simulation achieves high fidelity by integrating simulated target generation with operational ATC automation systems. Utilizing the core ATCoach simulation engine, this system generates real-time surveillance sensor messages. It processes flight data messages as if they came from actual sensors and flight data processors, ensuring an authentic training experience.
