Agenzia Nazionale Per La Sicurezza Del Volo (Italy) (Ansv)

The Agenzia Nazionale per la Sicurezza del Volo, or ANSV, is a public institution in Italy. It operates independently within the Civil Aviation System. This independence ensures that its operations remain objective, as required by European Commission directive 94/56/CE. To maintain its autonomous status, the ANSV is overseen by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Notably, it is the only Civil Aviation entity not under the supervision of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

The ANSV has two primary responsibilities. First, it conducts technical investigations into accidents and incidents involving civil aviation aircraft. Based on its findings, the agency issues safety recommendations when necessary, though it does not cover accidents involving state aircraft. Second, the ANSV engages in studies and surveys to enhance flight safety across the sector. These efforts are vital for ensuring that air travel remains safe for everyone.
