State Aircraft

State aircraft are defined for Air Traffic Management (ATM) purposes, specifically referencing Article 3(b) of the Chicago Convention. According to this definition, only aircraft used by military, customs, and police services qualify as state aircraft. This means that any aircraft listed on a military register or identified as military in a civil register is considered to be in military service, thus qualifying as state aircraft. Additionally, civil registered aircraft that serve military, customs, or police functions also fall under this category. However, if a civil registered aircraft is used by a state for purposes other than military, customs, or police service, it does not qualify as a state aircraft.
