Iata Dangerous Goods Regulations (Dgr)

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) manual serves as a key guide for shipping dangerous goods by air. It is recognized globally by airlines as the standard for such shipments. The DGR outlines rules based on the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Technical Instructions. These regulations include the United Nations classification for each substance, detailing their acceptability and conditions for air transport. It’s important to note that the DGR is not an official regulatory document. The rules within must not be less strict than the existing laws. While ICAO updates its Technical Instructions every two years, IATA refreshes the DGR annually. According to IATA, keeping up with individual country and airline restrictions, which may be stricter than ICAO regulations, is essential for accurate and safe shipping.
