Could The B-52 Really Reach 100 Years Of Service?

If current modernization timelines remain on schedule, the B-52 could remain operational until at least 2055. By that point, the aircraft would achieve approximately 100 years of active military service.
That possibility raises fascinating questions about aviation longevity. Most combat aircraft disappear within a few decades because advancing technology renders them obsolete. The B-52 instead evolved continuously alongside technological change.
